Vintage Rompers and Jumpsuits

Judging by the runways of Spring 2010, anything goes when it comes to length. At their shortest, there were playsuits and rompers there were almost as short as hot pants. The longest ones we saw reached ankles as full jumpsuits, and in between were knee length and mid-calf, both tight and baggy. Don’t be afraid to try this fun garment this Spring into Summer!

Tips

-There are so many different types of jumpsuits, shopping vintage is the way to go. Each decade has very unique takes on this garment, and you KNOW the designers are inspired by them all!

-Another way to wear the jumpsuit this season is by going exotic- try the billowing harem-style pants that gather at the ankles, paired with a strappy high heel.

-For a night out, opt for sexy fabrics like silks and details like sequins or panels that are color-blocked or sheer.

So you may not be able to snag these pricey labels, so there’s vintage to the rescue! Where do you think these designers even get their ideas from….v.i.n.t.a.g.e.

Abstract shapes, graphic prints, stripes and especially florals this season; almost anything goes when it comes to trouser prints in 2010.

Tips

-Don’t be afraid to mix patterns! Clashing prints can give a sense of careless charm. Just don’t overdo it or you’ll risk looking clown-like.

- If going for a loose fit, pair with either a baggier top that’s part tucked in, part untucked for a nonchalant relaxed look, or a fitted solid colored tank.
